I suppose this question might set off another "my favorite is . . ."
debate, so with that caveat, here goes:
I just got a TS-180S in trade. It wasn't what I expected, being rather too
large, although it does have some nice features, such as a front panel
power control that takes it down to the milliwatt range.
Anyway, I'm going to get rid of it and find something along the lines of a
TS-130/140 in size and features, although I'm not committed to that radio
at all. I do remember some nice things being said about the 757 from Yaesu;
I know about the Argosy; yadda, yadda, yadda.
Given that my desires are the following, what would you recommend or not
recommend based on your experience:
Size - about that of a TS-140/130, perhaps a bit larger given that this
will be the main home rig
Digital display
Some memories
QSK
1-100 W (ability to be easily set, perhaps from the front panel)
WARC
IF Shift
FSK input
Decent receiver
Any advice sought - please e-mail direct; this is not something that needs
a thread on the list.
thanks,
Grover
