HI Gang,
Just got a used 9040, looks in mint condx,manual,etc
put in on the air last evening with a local to listen,
and the xmit is great, about 4watts on my WM-1.
The problem seems to be if anyone is close by in freq
the receiver seems to mute for like 1 sec intervals making
copy very tough on weak signal work. I wonder if I bought
a lemon or if this was a common problem which I could fix?
I'm guessing it has something to do with AGC.
Its one nice rig so hope there is an answer to this dilema.
Not to worry as I have the OHR sprint 40, spirit 20, HW-8,
and argo 505 to keep me on the air in the meantime.
