Hi everyone!
FWIW, not being an expert it is rather presumptious of me to give advice,
but when building the 38S you may have the best luck with first building the
basic unit and then adding the Tick keyer , then the 5Watt mod, and finally
(if ever) the RIT. This is said based on my own experiences as well as what
I can gather from reading (and rereading) much of the mail that has been
posted.
I have the 38S working fb at about 1/2 watt and last night added the Tick
which works great except for the tones being low. (sidetone on Tx is FB) I
have not yet changed the 2.2Meg resistor (think it's R17) -
Gud luck to everyone with this rig, not that it needs much luck --- and
having not had a chance to say it before -- THANK YOU --- Norcal, and all of
you great guys!!
