HAARP Party

Ok Gang,

FSFD is over and I've got nothing to do. The Doc' won't let me go back to
work (smart on his part) so here's the latest crazy idea. How about some
QRP beacons set up for the HAARP night. Sure we can use the regular WWV and
ship-to-shore CW markers but we need to have a few where we know what the
parameters are. Too bad the 'S' and 'C' markers will be 4+ hours past the
event since they are probably on the other side of the HAARP TX site.

A list of known/reliable Sortwave signals might be in order too. Have them
in the commercial HF rig (still have yours?) memories and watch for
ionization effects and the like. If we get some fever running for
monitoring this event, I'll collate a list of suggested targets and beacons,
put that list out a day or two before the event (Friday night EST before
Charlotte Hamfest) and list the results a day or two later. This can all
take place transparent to the already high volume (sorry) traffic on QRP-l
by going the private e-mail route. Maybe the action topic before 50/40 gets
hot, now that FSFD/FYBO/CQC are over.

Your Thoughts?
