I wasn't going to comment on this, but this thread seems like its not
going to die peacefully...

Hey, I remember when I was 17 and thought more was better. And after all,
 Adam is from So.Cal, home of the "California Kilowatt". Admit it, a lot
of you all thought more was better when you first became Hams, right?
Envied the guy down the street with his KW station.

Someday, Adam will get tired of all the easy pickings running QRO and
discover the challenge of QRP. (Or his parents will make HIM pay the
light bill!)

When I was a wee chap, I asked my dad if a radio worked okay with 6
transistors, wouldn't a hundred work better? He said, " Not really, and
why use a hundred when just six will do?" And to think today, I'm
building a radio with a million transistors, if you count the ones in
the cpu and DDS chip....

Anyway, let Adam have his fun and some day he will have to trade that
sports car in for an econ-o model....
