Dear Chris and Friends,
>From my original response to Adam's letter:
"I question whether Adam's letter was anything more than him venting his
frustration over some unfortunate experience with a QRPer... or QRPer's
in general."
>VFO!!! Yuck! I am a crystal control boy. If you ever come by 7037 I
>will try my hardest to work you. I always give everyone my best shot,
but I
>would prefer it if the QRP people would make it easier on me. I guess
>that my working crystal control on 7037, (close to 7040, the QRP spot)
>I might be asking for it.
There is an old Appalachian saying that describes Adam's situation...
usually reserved for folks with otherwise good intentions who find
themselves in a predicament such as his... "He went pickin' melons in
the tomato patch!" I suggest that we ship Adam some crystals down around
7026... 7015... etc. It would show our good intentions and let him find
some folks that he most definitely will not have to dig out of the noise.
And Chris... I hope you obtained Adam's permission to distribute his
private comments to you over the QRP-L. If so... I commend you. But as
a reminder to others... please be thoughtful enough to let a person, with
whom you are corresponding, make the decision about where, when and how
their opinions are made public. Respecting a fellow ham's privacy (or
anyone else's for that matter) is always the right thing to do. And it
keeps the reputation of the QRP community untarnished.
