My original letter and reply. Thought folks might like to see it.
Tried to be positive and you draw your own conclusions. I've drawn
mine, I don't think he quite gets it. But, when I was 17, I didn't
get it either.

I agree. It takes a great operator with a good receiver.

Those are valid points. I have to ask though, "where is the fun for you?"
It's the other guy who has the challenge of hearing you.

VFO!!! Yuck! I am a crystal control boy. If you ever come by 7037 I will
try my hardest to work you. I always give everyone my best shot, but I
would prefer it if the QRP people would make it easier on me. I guess
that my working crystal control on 7037, (close to 7040, the QRP spot) I
might be asking for it.
