Howdy All,

Just a quick report from the NorthWest ... KV9X decided to
finish his NW-20 kit last weekend in time for the FYBO
Field Day Event. It went together okay, so a quick trip
to Radio Shack for a few connectors completed the hardware.

On saturday morning I packed up Marcia's (KC7MCW) mountain bike
with the gear, tofu sandwhich, and a jar of hot coffee. I rode
about a mile or so 'till I got to the Woodland Park Zoo. It is a
really good spot beacuse there are many trees and picnic tables,
many sheltered from our famous rain-fall. (Seattle)

The antenna went up (INV VEE) though it could have been much higher,
but I only had about 15 feet of coax. :-0 It is a Bic Flamethrower
with alarm wire elements ... cheap and doesn't tangle.

Had very few visitors ... partly because all those trees made
for a lot of shade on an otherwise unusually sunny day ... we
even had shadows! At many point I heard strange screams from
the bushes and though some kids were up to no good, but then
it dawned on me ... those jungle sounds are REAL! I was at
the Zoo, you'll remember! Those monkeys kept me company from
the time the antenna was up until I packed up. :-)

Anyway, the band (20) was in good shape, except for some QSB and
a few QSOs were made ... some easy, some hard. Thanks for
all who entered! The NM and AZ stations were all very strong
here ... must have had a pipeline.

Had to pack up around 2:45 to go drop off some stuff for
a freenet orientation meeting, then went off to work putting
together a data package fro the EPA (fun).

I am still excited about that event .. thanks ScQRPions!
