read the letter,he asked the question why? he qualified his thoughts as
" in my opinion ." he's entitled to his opinion just as we qrp'ers are
to ours. a 17 yr. old doesn't have enough "time in grade" to have developed
a well rounded perspective in ham radio or life but there is some merit
in what he has to say.
we hams tend to overlook or forget that most of what we do isn't original
and has been done before, even before most of us were born.very little, if
any, human endeavor means anything to a tree or in the grand scheme of things.
qrp is fun, even exciting. building qrp rigs is too. learning about the
technical side of our hobby is all that gives it meaning when the novelty
of qso's alone wears off.
