Hi Jim, I thought I was the only kite flying qrper out there!!! Tomorrow,
weather permitting I will be flying my Delta Conyne. My present antenna
will be a 1 wave zepp cut for 40m fed a quarter wave in with 300 ohm twin
lead.My kite has enough poop to lift the feedline 30 feet into the air
even with a modest wind!! Tomorrow I will look for you so we can have a
kite to kite contact while I'm sitting under a leantoo(sp?) at about
6500ft and of course the temp will be -35.....can we figure in the wind
chill,Joe?? If the above antenna doesn't work to my expectations, then I
will try the old trusty half wave end fed with maybe 3 above ground
radials. So, if you hear a someone using a bug, with a signal going up and
down very drastically(wind condx),it may be yours truly.72, good luck in
the contest.Tom WB5QYT ....PS: If I decide to use the 49er tomorrow,
anyone want to come and hold the rig down on the table so the kite won,t
pull it off the table?
