Well the BIG Motha antenna is up and the ScQRPion home base will be ready
for FYBO tomorrow at 10am! Brian and I spent about 4 hrs today measuring it
out and hoisting it aloft while dodging scorpions, snakes and coyotes. It
tuned up fb with my analyzer, HB ATU and Brian's QRP+ but I had to leave
before any contacts were made. Brian is standing shotgun on it tonight and
will make a few test QSO's during the evening. Dan, Kent, Bill, et al will
be out early tomorrow am to assemble additional antennas and operate. I'm
monitoring Mingus 147.00 at home tonight for Joe. The rest of the mountain
topper ScQRPions will join him there tomorrow am to set up and open FYBO
from the remote base.
Anyone in Phoenix area wishing to join us tomorrow go west on Olive to White
Tanks Park then continue in the park to Willow Canyon Rd. make a left and on
about a mile. We're on the right...can't miss us.
BTW, a Boy Scout group is just down the road and we've invited them up for a
show and tell...potential QRP'rs.
