Good Day!!!!

I took the 1/2 day off to come home and play with new toys (the
chip and my QRP+ both arrived).

well.. here is a new one for you. I knew I was about as careful as
could be and really believed the finished kit to be a work of art.
I was very perplexed after checking and rechecking everything. I
might have never found the problem. I decided to read the QST
article over a few times for hints. at one point I hesitated..
There was a picture of what looked like an earlier version at the
beginning of the article. I noticed the crystal. It was folded
down. I remembered in the back of my mind when building the kit
there was something in the instructions about putting a wire
across the crystal. I couldn't figure out how to do that, since my
crystal was standing upright. I remembered when checking the
crystal thinking the case should be grounded. Before I popped the
chip in, I figured out what I was really suppose to do so I
soldered two decent size wires to the holes and then to the top of
 the crystal.

Plugged in the chip, turned on the power.. and low and behold..
works fantastically. I have already re-arranged my working bench
to use the new tuner with 3 different antennas.. a Gap vertical, a
5 band quad and a resonant 160 meter dipole. Seems to tune each
everywhere, real fast.. good way to start the weekend.

Got the QRP+ plugged in.. just need to figure out how to use it.

LDG was fantastic in helping me try to figure this out.. TOP
quality service, top quality product, and I might add, built in
America, and built extremely well :-)

thanks again Scott
