Regarding your post of receiving the application for license renewal -
I got one of those back in November - about the 90 day point before
renewal was due. I tossed the short application card that was sent in,
took a FCC 610 and sent it in to Gettysburg. Total cost was 32 cents
minus the time it took to fill out the application, cost of a xerox
copy of my license and an envelope. Any of the recent copies of
FCC 610 are now valid (at least from August 1993 - to date). I think
they will also take other colours other than buff, but I have not
tried that. Remember, the more hands involved, the more chance of
a mistake resulting in a delay of re-issuance of your license.
I would certainly hate to entrust the renewal application to strangers.
