Did this question ever get answered? I never saw it ...

As a reminder, hitting the "reply" button on most software packages
will not send the message to the list. A copy, or a summary from
the questioner of the e-mail replies received, would be helpful,
particularly for those of us who have the same questions ...
probably 10 to 1!

Thanks for the cooperation ...

In the same vein:

Much has been made of the use of e-mail as a spotting tool. I'm not
sure it's that valuable, particularly for those of us who download
mail once or twice a day. And, if you are staying online to get
mail, wouldn't IRC (Internet Relay Chat) be more effective as an
immediate communications method for spotting? You could establish a
channel on DALnet or UnderNet with the title of #qrp-l, and log on
using your callsign as a "nick" (short for nickname) when you are
operating. Would work well as a HUGE "Cluster" type wide area
network. Periodic summaries via e-mail of "currently actives" might
be useful, but 6-8 hour old information rarely is. Summaries can be
captured to a file from the chat screens, and sent via a daily
(0000Z) DX update ...

Just a suggestion ... I have no desire to diminish the cooperative
efforts here -- far from it! I'd like to see it be more effective,
if anything. There is plenty of IRC software out there, but users
of Juno and e-mail only ISPs would be out of the game on IRC. mIRC
and ViRC seem to be available widely for Win 3.1 and Win 95, check
the local TUCOWS or Stroud's Ultimate Winsock App list for details.
