Gang, I have a Radio Shack frequency counter Cat. NO. 22-305 Handheld model
and would like to know if there are other owners out there. Specifically I'd
like to know how to use it for hooking up to test points on the Emtech 80
meter qrp transceiver I'm presently building. The instructions say nothing
about building a probe etc. and I don't want to damage it or the radio.
Last night I checked the voltage at the test point and it was below the
"safe" range of the counter so I hooked a wire to the telescopic antenna and
the other end to the test point. Set the switch to Hi-z and range to
50MHz..........voillaaaaaaaa......all was well. Should I use a capacitor in
series or something??? I can't give blood for a while as I think I'm quite
low sweating it all out. I normally use it by placing the antenna close to
an antenna to check freq. output. Can anyone educate this 48 year old
aircraft maniac (mechanic)on how to make a probe or properly use it??? I do
know the difference between RF and hydraulic fluid plus a search engine is
underpowered on KC-135R tankers. heh heh.
Thanks in advance
