I'm gonna remove the RIT mod today, and I just got another 22.118 Mhz
crystal to try if I still can't get the VXO range I should. I also picked
up a
little LM386 audio amplifier kit for $8.00 to bring up the audio level to
a comfortable level while troubleshooting so I don't have to wear the
blasted headphones and get all tangled up with the tools and soldering
iron cable! :-(

In fact, if it works out OK, I may leave the audio amp on and add it to
the
cabinet assuming it doesn't add too much hiss!

On the LDG QRP tuner,

My momentary SPDT switches for the CAPand INDUCTOR
up / down have a really crummy feel. So I bought some
prime ones today from Electronic City that act a lot better. I prefer the
pushbuttons of the QRO unit, but realize the TT case shallow height
really didn't permit them to be used. Anybody else notice this
shortcoming
of the QRP tuner, or am I just too damn critical? 8<P

BTW, you can still get that little QRP dummy load from R/S, but you
gotta get it from their RSU (Radio SHack Unlimited) division.

Somebody here said they discontinued this item, which isn't quite true.
