Hi Ed, I agree with you that it is no problem for low 'Q'
configurations which it will be simply because a toroid
is being used. However, lest someone think insulated wire
should be used in a high 'Q' application, like the loading
coil on an antenna let me disagree with Nike and say just
don't do it. For the same reasons that toroids should not
be used as the loading coil for an antenna, insulated wire
should also not be used. For mobile antennas on 75m, we
already have about 98% loss. We don't want to add to it.
