I read the QRP-L digests when I have time, and find them very interesting.
A few weeks back, someone mentioned that computer power supplies were not
suitable, but indicated that they had posted a design to use some of the
parts. I have not found the posting using the archive search.

I have a few PC power supplies, salvaged from stuff on the way to the
garbage (most just with dead fans). Out of these, I'd like to try to make
the following supplies;

16.5v to 2A max current.
4.8-6v variable, to 3A max current
12 to 16v (not variable, just somewhere in there) to at least 8A max
current

I have been saving up some projects! The first two are not for rigs, but
the third is for my 2m rig (QRO as I have a "no code/no build" licence
still).

I was hoping that someone could point me the right direction for regulated
supplies. If someone has a posting about it, or a favorite electronics
text (I know basic theory and building), that would help. I can get pretty
much anything through my library, and I'm not afraid of reading/research,
but I have no idea where to start.

Thanks in advance.
