All this talk of antennas reminds me of my bestest two antennas....

The BESTEST HF antenna was the shunt leaded chain link fence. It seems that
the ENTIRE block had their chain link fences connected together and when I
shunt loaded mine I had superb signals on 160 - 10 meters, even at the
bottom of a cycle.

The nextest bestest was when I lived in a split level house, no antennas
allowed. Ran a wire to the metal flashing around the roof on each level,
connected it to the tuner, the top one for the radiator and the bottom one
for the counterpoise, and WALLA, 80-10 meters, no problem.

The only problem with either one was around Christmas with all those
flashing lights...............

And who said antenna's weren't cheap.............
