As I remember, the sun reverses its magnetic polarity every 11 years. The
sun spot cycle is actually a 22 year cycle consisting of two maxima with the
magnetic field reversed.

You might try turning them upside down.

I think everyone will be OK if you squeeze your sun-screen from the bottom
of the tube.
