Presumably you are referring to my article in SPRAT #83. I never
submitted a copy of my PCB layout as it used an M706BI 50Hz timebase..
This chip is no longer manufactured and I have given up on finding an
8-pin equivalent. Seems you will have to go the with the "alternative"
circuit given for the clock.
PLEASE NOTE ONE SMALL ERROR IN MY CIRCUIT AS SHOWN IN BOTH SPRAT & QRPp.
U-1 incorrectly shows two Pin 15s. Pin 15 goesto the re-set line as
shown; the other Pin 15, the input from the 2N3904, should have been
numbered PIN 13. My apologies for not having posted this correction
Incidentally, I will be in the UK for a short vacation in about 10 days
time and expect to visit George. I will discuss with him whether there
is sufficient interest in coming up with a PCB. Main problem is that it
is not multiplexed and requires 32 wires to the display (not everone's
cup of tea!) or some pretty fine artwork. I will be bring one with me on
this trip. Maybe we can cross paths. George will know how to get hold
