re: D-Cells as a QRP Power Source ?

I use a pack of 8 "AA" alkeline cells. But then I run under 1 watt most of
the time in the field. They last a long time, but I never stressed them for
more than 6 hours at a time. Some rigs don't draw more than 30 ma on
receive. Your transmit drain is the main consideration.

One more thing, when I fly commercially, I take the AA's because they don't
allow gel cells on the plane.
