No one jumped at the chance to buy it today at our QRP show, so here
goes...HW-8 for sale, $100 (FOB Severn, MD, ie, shipping not included).
Home phone is 410-551-1633. A call will be quicker and better than
e-mail. I do not guarantee that this HW-8 works perfectly, since it
does not work at all, and some parts must be installed for it to work.
As a matter of fact, most of the parts must be installed, all wiring
and chassis work must be done...this is a **** K I T **** and perhaps
half of the parts have been placed on the board by the previous owner
(who bought it completely unassembled last year and finally realized
he'd never get around to finishing it off, and now I must sadly come to
the same realization). I didn't bother to check if all parts are
there, though there are bags of parts and the chassis metal parts seem
to be there. I did check to see that the all-important VFO tuning cap
is there and in good shape (as are the two other panel-mounted caps).
This one should go fast--you don't find unassembled HW-8 kits very
often (although local QRPer and "qrp-l wannabe" WA4KAC found one a
couple years ago....and he paid $50 for it, and it's working great
whenever he doesn't have it torn apart for more and more mods). 73 and
