MFJ 9040. More thoughts

Hi again,

Forgot to mention in the last post that I found the PCB
to be fair quality. But LOTS of rosin left over from the
soldering.

Having worked in some radio shops, I hate to see that. It
will pick up moisture and do all sorts of weird things to
a radio. Wish I had been thinking at the time and could
have just given it a good washing and check it again.

In case anyone wants to try that, I use alcohol and an old
tooth brush. With anolog circuits you should always clean
the board after soldering. That will also help you to spot
any solder bridges.
