This list has been attractive in our mailboxes because the quality/byte
is high. Some do not access a facility that offers newsgroups. Also,
there may be some who have to pay for connect time, and/or E-Mail storage.
AS A NICE HOLIDAY GIFT TO EACH OTHER, LET'S:
Keep posts limited to one or two pages unless seeking permission from,
or at least forewarning, the gang. Try composing offline, then edit
for brevity before posting.
Stick to the SUBJECT (?). Surely Chuck Adams will wax eloquently about
the subject bounds in the (F)requently (A)sked (Q)uestions File. If not
sure, do not assume. It's OK to ask before posting.
Use E-Mail to send data files to requestors WITHOUT copy to qrp-l. Ask for
volunteer list readers to post our large files on their anonymous/guest
accessible FTP, WWW, etc. sites or their BBS's, then point to them with a
message here. Use an existing rec.radio.amateur.* newsgroup to relay
relevant large files, then point to it here. If running a survey, ask for
inputs via E-Mail WITHOUT copy to qrp-l, then summarize the results here.
Use a few lines as preface to our posts to identify the thread, if the
subject line won't contain it. The netcom.com list handler and internet
relay sites are apparently hashing the order of the in/out stack so some
get answers before they get the questions. Also lag time is up to ? days.
[Speaking of gifts, my OHR Explorer II 20M kit and QRP Wattmeter kit just
arrived, along with several days vacation to enjoy kit building. Joy!]
