Doug,

good review. i have the hamsticks also and have for many years.
in fact, two are still in the wrapper. i have used the 40 and 20
meter versions with good luck. for 10 meters i use a mag mount
CB center loaded whip. i got the whip for about $25 at a truck
stop. the centered coil is made of steel and this baby will take
a KW. ever heard of a truck driver running qrp? notice on 10 meters
mobile when truckers are near there is a lot of SSB splatter on the
low end? notice that the receiver front end overloads all the time?
i do. :-)

i was thinking of bringing my OHR 20 meter qrp rig to work and during
lunch going out to the pickup truck and working 20 qrp. but it's just
too darn hot in texas this time of the year.

40 meters was open this morning to JAs, VKs, ZLs, and the pacific.
called JH but he went back to a 0 in kansas. didn't have time to
try for the others.
