These are "Gates Cyclone" lead acid cells. When they're new, they're
the best deep-cycle small lead acid batteries around. They retail
for about $6.50 each when they're new.
These batteries are used in the new "high-power" Vista-Lite VL420 and
VL430. And they are an excellent choice for bike lighting, especially
if you are building a system that will be gather charge-on-the-run
with a generator or solar cell for recharging.
But here's the caveat: The batteries have a limited shelf life, and
they seem to last about the same amount of time whether you use them
or not. I'm trying to get documentation on how to read the date code
on them, but if they're over about 2 years old, don't waste your money.
